2022 A Year in Review (Part 2)

With the end of the year coming to a close, mere hours away, here are some more questions to reflect on the past year of 2022. From Harshita titled, “39 Questions you must answer before starting 2023”. Grab your phone or pencil and paper, and let’s get into it.

Question#1) What are the few things I am grateful for that happened this year? There are several reasons I am grateful for this year. I have tried a lot of new foods this year, had some new experiences and met people. Also, thankful for a lot of exhilarating experiences with friends and family.

Question#2) What was 2022 like for me? Wild. There were a lot of ups and downs, but overall, it was a fun year.

Question#3) What was the highlight of this year? My highlight of 2022 was moving to Chicago. Easily one of the best decisions I made this year.

Question#4) What were the challenges I faced? Of the challenges I faced, a good portion of them were health related: I was sick to start the new year of 2022, I had to get stitches, I had a surgery, I dropped a can on my toe - got a black toe nail, twisted my ankle, and much more). It was a wild year health wise. Meanwhile, on a personal note, I had to get my car fixed three times (rock hit the windshield, another rock hit my front bumper, and got hit on the backside). On top of that, there were some other things as well. All in all. 2022 was a wild but hectic year.

Question#5) What are some lessons I learned that I will take with me? I learned to stand up for myself, that I am introverted-extrovert that enjoys talking to people, and to trust my instinct when something feels off.

Question#6) Did I follow my passion this year? If not, why? Yes, I did at times. Lately, I have been painting more often and doing other activities I haven not done in awhile.

Question#7) Write about a favorite memory of this year. For my birthday, my friend and I went to an outdoor zip lining course. It was exciting! However, as I have gotten older, I am starting to like heights less and less. But it was a great experience!! I would definitely do it again.

Also, took a hiking trip to Devil’s Lake. A place I have wanted to go for awhile. It was no joke. The steep climb to the top was strenuous but definitely worth the view!!

Question#8) What was the most significant risk I took this year? Opening up to people and asking for help.

Question#9) How was my mental health in 2022? Up and down, and all around.

Question#10) What is something that I will leave/let go of in the past? This is a hard one. Perhaps, I will leave my insecurities and overthinking behind.

Question#11) Compared to 2021, how much have I changed in 2022? I have changed a lot. I am happier (on most days), more confident, and more independent.

Question#12) What financial changes I took in 2022, and how did they do? It is a work in progress.

Question#13) I forgive myself for.. making mistakes.

Question#14) How do I feel about navigating the new year 2023? Am I excited, or will I miss it in 2022? I’m excited for all the new adventures 2023 will have to offer.

Question#15) What are my goals for next year? Be more consistent (shoutout to my friend!).

Question#16) What does my ideal life look like? Pretty much like it does now except with a little more consistency in day to day life.

Question#17) When I imagine my life next year, what things pop into my head. More adventures, more laughs, turning 30. Haha.

Question#18) What is bringing me joy lately? Painting and drawing has brought me a lot of joy lately. Also, hanging out with close friends :)

Question#19) What can I do to follow my dreams this year? Be more consistent in 2023.

Question#20) What changes can I make to be closer to my ideal life this coming year? Start the day by working out, stretching, continue on my track to eat healthy, and surround myself with people who love me for me.

Question#21) What is holding me back from living happily? Overthinking and people’s perceptions of me.

Question#22) What are my personal goals for 2023? Read more books, write more, paint more, and explore more.

Question#23) What are my financial plans for next year? Continue paying off my loans and having great credit.

Question#24) Do I need to slow down or be more active in 2023? I feel like I am always active so maybe in 2023 I should learn to take it slow. To enjoy being in every moment.

Question#25) What is my theme for the new year, 2023? To enjoy every day.

Question#26) In 2023, I am most excited for... all the new experiences, challenges headed my way.

Question#27) Do I have any travel plans for next year? Where do I wish to go? I want to visit my friend in Missouri and see my other friends place in Minnesota. But I would also like to take a road trip or go out of the country.

Question#28) What are some new hobbies I can expect to try in 2023? The Chicago Walking Club and I want to also try the Chicago Swim Club.

Question#29) One small thing I want to do in 2023? Take another trip or hike a National park.

Question#30) What are some skills I want to learn next year? I want to learn how to code and to re-learn how to play my ukulele.

Question#31) A new experience that I want to have is... taking a trip out of the US.

Question#32) What are my top priorities for the new year? To prioritize my friendships, make more time for my passions, to continue to learn and grow, and be more consistent.

Question#33) What is my why? I am not really sure what this is asking? To improve and evolve, maybe.

Question#34) How can I feel more fulfilled in 2023? By trying new experiences, trying new things, meeting new people, and going to new places.

Question#35) What mindset changes do I need to make the best of the new year? To stop worrying about what others might think.

Question#36) What are my physical health goals for 2023? Well hopefully health wise, 2023 will be a lot better.

Question#37)  What are some non-negotiable for me in the new year? Overworking myself in any area of life. Going out of my way for people who would not do the same.

Question#38) What bad habits do I want to change in 2023? Not drinking as much coffee, eating out less, watching streaming services less.

Question#39) How can I make time for more self-care next year? Choosing a routine and sticking to it.
