2022 A Year in Review (Part 1)

It’s that time of year again. It’s time to reflect on there past year: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the most beautiful moments.

This time last year, I was in a completely different place physically, emotionally, and mentally. A lot has changed for me this year. There has also been some challenges but also a lot of awesome moments. 2023 was something special.

Anywho, I saw a post on a Pinterest titled, “New Year: 15 Questions Year End Review” from boxwoodbliss.com. I am going to go through and answer their questions. Grab a pen and paper or make notes on your phone to follow along.

Question#1) One word to describe the year. Challenging.

Question#2) Best thing you did for someone else this year? This is a hard one. I guess I would say that every day I had a day off from work. I would pickup my dad and take him out for breakfast. I helped him get out of the house. Then, afterwards we would typically take a drive around. It is kind of our thing that we have always done together. I have also taken my mom out as well.

Question#3) Favorite movie of the year? Hmm, I do not watch movies.. so I’m not sure.

Question#4) Favorite show of the year? I watched “Murders in the Building” on Hulu. It was a great show. Can’t wait for the next season.

Question#5) Most embarrassing moment of the year? Now this shouldn’t be too hard since I embarasse myself all the time. One day, it was quiet at work that la pin could be heard if it was dropped. I was on the phone and in the middle of leaving a voicemail when it say, now you can leave a message, beep. I was already half way through so I just continued to finish the message. But I called again and left a proper voicemail.  I feel like there are so many in my personal life but I cannot remember a single one right now.

Question#6) Times you laughed the hardest this year? There are too many times to say. I have such amazing friends. They are all hilarious and I’m so lucky to have them in my life.

Question#7) Something you learned to do/Never done before? I learned to live on my own. The last time I was living on my own, I had three roommates. Now it’s just me.

Question#8) Most newsworthy event? Currently, there is a blizzard in Chicago. It is -6 degrees but with windchill it is -33.

Questions#9) Biggest lessons learned? Trust your instinct and stand up for yourself.

Question#10) Favorite place you visited this year? I went to Lake Geneva this summer. It was a perfect day at the beach. Being in the water was quite refreshing. I also got a nice suntan. A friend recommended Oakfire, pizza place in the area. The pizza was really good. Then, I went shopping and had a nice walk. Overall, it was a great day!

Question11#) Most memorable moment/day of the year? There is no particular day that stands out. I had so many crazy, fun, interesting moments this year.

Question#12) Best advice you received this year? To move to Chicago.

Question#13) An achievement you are proud of this year? I created a training document for my job.  I’m really proud of that. I also, as mentioned in a previous question, moved into an apartment by myself. I’m really proud of that as well.

Question#14) Reminisce on one great compliment you received this year. I was told that I seem much more confident and happier this year. I believe that is true. I have grown into myself a lot this year. Every day I work on being a better person. And I think it has translated, so much so, that friends and family have been able to take notice.

Question#15) What or whom are you most thankful for this year? There are several: Family and friends.

To be continued.
