The Back Story

Edited: March 28th, 2025:

Welcome, lovelies and beaus! Today, I want to take you on a little journey—a look back at how Inspire Those Who Inspire Me came to be. Every website, blog, or creative project has a story behind it, and mine is no exception. What started as a simple idea years ago has evolved into something deeply personal, shaped by experiences, lessons, and a passion for sharing inspiration with others.

From its humble beginnings to the twists and turns that brought it to where it is today, this blog holds a special place in my heart. So, if you've ever been curious about the origins of Inspire Those Who Inspire Me—how it all started, the meaning behind it, and the journey that led me here—keep reading. Let’s dive into the story together!

In January of 2014, I launched Inspire Those Who Inspire Me on Weebly, with the idea of creating a space to spread positivity and share the lessons I had learned over the years. Originally, I envisioned sharing this platform with a close friend, where we would both dive into our life stories and the lessons we had absorbed along the way. But, as life often does, things didn’t go quite as planned.

At first, most of my posts were simple—book reviews and journaling, nothing too exciting. But everything changed between 2015 and 2016. That’s when Inspire Those Who Inspire You became something more meaningful to me. It all started when I made the bold decision to move nearly 1,000 miles from my home in the Chicago suburbs to attend college in Denton, Texas. It was a leap I desperately needed, and it turned out to be a truly life-changing experience. Living in Texas had always been a dream of mine, and in 2015, that seemingly impossible dream became my reality. Texas was everything I had hoped for and more, and the university I attended opened my eyes to all the opportunities the world had to offer.

When I moved to Texas in 2015 to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of North Texas, I had to navigate a lot of challenges on my own. I didn’t know a single person when I arrived, so homesickness hit me hard. My car broke down more than once, and I leaned heavily on two incredible friends I met early on. These friends became my rock, and looking back, I can’t help but feel it was fate that brought us together so quickly. It felt like a clear sign that the universe, or maybe even a higher power, was guiding me.

Anyway, the experiences I had in those early years motivated me to write not just about the lessons I was learning, but also about topics that were becoming increasingly important to me. By 2016, I found myself posting more regularly, covering everything from college life to exciting adventures, new foods I had tried, daily quotes, and the occasional life lesson. But that wasn’t all—I also took to social media to grow my reach. I created an Instagram page for the blog (@those.inspire, which I have since deleted) and even set up a Pinterest account to share my posts. Slowly, but surely, I started to build something I was proud of.

Then came late 2017. That’s when things took a turn. My personal life took some unexpected twists, and honestly, it changed me in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time. It took a lot of time to process and heal from those experiences, but I kept blogging through it. Unfortunately, I put so much pressure on myself to stay consistent, aiming to post three times a week. Eventually, I hit a wall. The constant demands of keeping up with content left me burned out, and I no longer found joy in blogging or writing at all. Still, I kept trying to push through. On days when I couldn’t come up with fresh content, I would post a picture with an inspirational quote or saying. Before long, though, I fell into a cycle of only posting pictures, and then, eventually, I stopped altogether.

Over the next few years, my focus shifted away from writing. I threw myself into fitness, another passion of mine, and spent time “finding myself” after graduating from UNT at the end of 2017. Post-college, my main priority became landing a job—no surprises there. But that’s a story for another time.

And so, that’s the backstory of Inspire Those Who Inspire Me. Thank you for taking the time to read it!

As a signature of my blog, I’d like to end this post with a suggestion to “Pass on kindness.” There’s no time like the present to Inspire Those Who Inspire You. Acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, can have a direct, positive impact on someone else. Go out there today and change someone’s life for the better!
