2024 Reflection
Welcome lovelies and beau’s to the last post of 2024. It’s hard to believe that it is already the end of December. Time flies when you’re having fun?! Before I reflect on the past year, do you have any New Year plans? Comment down below. Also, to stay up-to-date, follow @inspire.those.who.inspire.you on Instagram. The year 2024 was a transformative one. I learned a lot. There were some tough moments as well as plenty of beautiful ones. For a quick overview, I thought this year would remain consistent. However, it was radically different than any other year I have previously experienced. One, it started off with an illness/injury that I was recovering from and trying to figure out since the previous year. This included random, dizzy spells as well as strong, breakout reactions. Although I no longer experience those symptoms, it still remains a mystery. Then, my mother dealt with some health stuff and she was in and out of the hospital for a good chunk of the year. It took a toll of her and it was difficult for me to see as well. I also lost my job that I enjoyed of nearly three years. The customers there were some of the sweetest people I had the chance of speaking with. My colleagues were great too. They frequently taught me new things.
Although it ended short, it gave me the opportunity to take a trip with some family members that I had been wanting to join for a while. After seeing some astonishing sights and spending moments with the family, I had to cut the trip short. Unfortunately, I experienced some altitude sickness as well as car sickness amongst other things. The lesson learned here is that the next time I make my return, I will take time to adjust to new heights!! 12000 feet is no joke! On my return flights home, I experienced flying out of a small airport, taking flight in a small airplane (32 seats maybe?), and experiencing a layover. I also met some wonderful people. During my layover, I spoke with a couple of men from Ontario, California who were returning from a business trip. They gave me some great advice which was to basically shoot my shot. In other words, don’t let the qualifications for a position stop me from applying to a job. Then, on my flight home, I made a new friend from across the ocean. She’s been working here in the United States for a bit but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from her this year is to not let your dreams pass you by.
During the course of my job hunt, I applied for positions that intimidated me as well as those that inspired me. There were a few times I didn’t hear back but there were also plenty of times I did. Also, I reached out for feedback when I could and I truly appreciate all those who take the time to do so. i consider it “passing on kindness”. It meant the world!
During this stressful and uncertain period of my life, I carved out some time each day to “smell the roses”, to kind of get out of my head and into nature to remind me of all the great things in life. Oftentimes, it can be hard to live in the moment in times of survival or uncertainty. In reality, it’s just as important. Even if it is something you have to do all day long, do it. Remind yourself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. One day you will look back and be surprised at how far you came.
Other times when I was free, I’d spend my time drawing, painting, or cooking. Other times, I would workout. If it wasn’t at the gym, it was outside or in my room. In addition to that, I spent some time taking LinkedIn courses including an Excel course as well as some others focused around customer service/facing roles. Most of my professional experience is in that sector. However, I’m currently trying to navigate into administrative or clerical settings. If you have any tips, I’m all ears.
During my time outside, I would try to catch the sunrise, go for a walk and visit the turtles, or go for a swim. Sometimes, I’d go just to sit and watch the tide roll in. It was peaceful. Planet Earth is a remarkable place.
2024 ended up being one of the best summers of my life other than the previous year. I spent time with my mother, hung out with friends, took in the beauty of nature, enjoyed my creative side, and lived life. So much so, that time seemed to slow down. Life became calm and breath-taking. It felt spontaneous and free. The sun radiated off of everything and made it shine bright. It was a blessing in disguise. It gave me the time to heal, to re-discover who I was, and it allowed me to take a breather. It was refreshing and just what I needed.
Here are some of the lessons I learned along the way:
I learned to truly love myself as cliche as it sounds. I can’t emphasis this enough. I no longer feel depleted as I once did. Now I feel more energized and inspired to create.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. It’s a decency.
If people talk, let them. Keep doing you.
Appreciate the moment. Life passes by so quick. I don’t know how it’s already the end of 2024.
Learn to process and appreciate your emotions. They tell a story. Start by learning to acknowledge them.
Forgive others who hurt you.
One thing I am most proud of this year is that I wrote 22 posts for my blog this year. Compared to previous years, that is a lot. Monday’s seem to work out best for me and I plan to remain consistent for the year of 2025. Be on the lookout!
A few more things I wish to share before its celebration time, here’s a little bit about me:

As a signature of this blog, I like to end each post with a suggestion to “Pass on kindness”. There is no such time as the present to “Inspire Those Who Inspire You”. Acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, can have a direct, positive impact on someone else. Go out there today and change someone’s life for the better.
